Musical Director

Gary Owen has been our Musical Director since September 2006, having previously been involved with Monton Voices as Accompanist for our concerts. Gary, most of the time, directs the choir from the piano at rehearsals and concerts, but now with the help of an Accompanist, he can enjoy concentrating on the role of conductor during our performances.

Gary also teaches the piano, organ and theory and has been accompanist for   various choirs over the last 20 or more years.  He studied privately with local teachers and holds diplomas in teaching and performance from the London College of Music and Trinity College, London. He is a church organist, and was awarded the diploma of Associate of the Royal College of Organists after examination in July 2008.  He is currently organist at the Church of the Holy Rood, Moorside, Swinton, but can often be seen playing at weddings and funerals in many of the churches in Eccles, Worsley and Prestwich.
