THE BALSHAM SINGERS
GREG MACKENZIE

Greg was born in Bangor, North Wales in 1976 and was for many years a chorister, and subsequently, a lay-clark at Bangor Cathedral, leaving in 1995 to come up to Cambridge to study as both an under and postgraduate student.
During his time in Cambridge, he has been musical director to Chesterton Choral Society, Fulbourn Dance and Theatre School and Shelford Opera as well as teaching for a period at Hills Road Sixth Form College. He has a particular interest in contemporary British and Australian orchestral music and regularly encourages the performance of 'new' music at concerts, especially the choral works of William Mathias, on who's orchestral music his dissertation was based.
He also has a penchant for post 1940's architecture, the British motor industry and David Bowie. For those interested in perhaps giving the singers a whirl, on a non important but perhaps useful note, he's addicated to eBay and is often seen wearing clothes of 'questionable' taste. This, however, shouldn't put people off!
