Welcome to the Clarkson Singers

Welcome to the Clarkson Singers, a traditional mixed Choir of about 42 adult singers, based in Wisbech, Capital of the Fens. We are a friendly mixed voice choir, about to celebrate our 20th year, having been founded in 1992. The choir is named after Thomas Clarkson, the anti-slavery campaigner.

The singers repertoire is wide ranging and covers both sacred and secular works from madrigals to songs from the shows. Plans for 2011/2012 includes Faure's Requiem.

Rehearsals are held in the Long Room, at the Octavia Hill House Museum, South Brink, Wisbech on Tuesday evening at 7.30 p.m.

We continue to welcome new singers of all voices, particularly basses and 2nd Sopranos. The ability to sight-read is welcome but not necessary, but you just need to be able hold a tune.

The choir is currently on Christmas break and meet again on Tuesday 17 January 2012.

The Clarkson Singers were formed in 1995 with the amalgamation of the Wisbech Choral Society and the Wisbech Male Voice Choir.
