Welcome to the Clarkson Singers

Welcome to the Clarkson Singers, a mixed Choir of about 35 adult singers, based in Wisbech, Capital of the Fens.

The Clarkson Singers were founded in 1992 when the six remaining members of the Wisbech Male Voice Choir approached Bruce Wegg to lead a new mixed four-part choir in the town and utilise their talents. Thus former choirs Wisbech MVC and Wisbech Choral Society merged. The betrothal was June, the happy union September 1992, when the name Clarkson Singers was chosen to commemorate the two closed choirs. The choir is named after Thomas Clarkson, the anti-slavery campaigner.

The singers repertoire is wide ranging and covers church music, madrigals, folk songs and songs from the shows.

Rehearsals are held at the Salvation Army Hall, John Thompson Road, Wisbech on Tuesday evening at 7.00 p.m.

We continue to welcome new singers of all voices, particularly tenors and basses, so if you have an interest on choir singing and are a competent singer able to hold a tune, please come along....
